What will you do as an PMC Respiratory Therapist
Pinehurst Medical Clinic is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our Pulmonary Department in Sanford, NC. This position plays a key role in patient care working with our providers in providing the best in patient care by performing all pulmonary function testing and assisting physicians and nursing personnel during clinical hours whenever possible. This is a PRN role, to help cover for PTO and leave of absences with no guarantee of hours.
A day in the life of a PMC Respiratory Therapist may include:
- Assisting the physician in pulmonary stress testing.
- Running pulmonary function testing in the pulmonary lab, including bronchial provocation.
- Manages the equipment necessary for all pulmonary testing and orders supplies needed for pulmonary testing.
- Works with Pulmonary RN in maintaining emergency equipment, supplies, and clinic staff readiness regarding emergency situations.
- Testing may include:
- Cardio Pulmonary Exercise Test
- DLCO
- Pulmonary Function Test w/ Bronchodilator
- Desaturation Test
- Arterial Blood Draw
- Methacholine Challenge
- Pulmonary Function Test
- Performs abg/6 minute walking test with oxygen set, titrations, and prescriptions.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
- BLS & ACLS certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire required.
- Active license/registration according to the standards for the state of North Carolina for Respiratory Therapists
Experience
- Six months experience in a clinical or hospital environment in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
Shift: Day Shift (Monday through Friday)
Pay Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
