Position Summary
Pinewood School is seeking a full-time Associate Director of Admissions (Grades K-6) to start in late July-early August of 2025. The Associate Director of Admissions (Grades K-6) will be an integral member of the Admissions Office and will report directly to the Director of Admissions (Grades K-6). This individual will participate fully in initiatives related to the admissions process for grades K-6. Responsibilities will include representing the school to prospective families, organizing admissions events, facilitating application evaluations, and providing guidance and support throughout the enrollment process. This position requires a high degree of independence, collaboration, and a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for prospective families while maintaining alignment with the school’s mission and values.

Responsibilities
Event Management
- Assist in the execution of admissions events, including but not limited to: open houses, preview days, classroom visits, family tours, information sessions, and testing days.
- Collaborate with the admissions team to design creative and engaging experiences for prospective and admitted families, ensuring alignment with the school’s values.
- Support the development of partnerships across departments to enhance event logistics and delivery.
- Act as a key contact for families applying to grades K-6, providing high-touch service to guide them through the admissions process.
- Represent the school at admissions events, local school fairs, and community organizations to strengthen awareness and outreach.
- Assist in cultivating relationships with feeder schools, early childhood education programs, and other relevant organizations.
- Communicate the unique value of a K-6 education at the school to prospective families through presentations, one-on-one meetings, and written correspondence.
- Facilitate the evaluation and assessment of K-6 applicants.
- Conduct parent/guardian interviews and student observations.
- Participate in the Admission Committee to assess and recommend applicants based on institutional priorities and values.
- Remain current on best practices in early childhood and elementary education to ensure an informed admissions process.
- Develop and manage a robust K-6 student and parent ambassador program to assist with admissions and marketing efforts.
- Assist with the annual setup and maintenance of the admissions database for K-6 applicants.
- Process applications, manage test scores and supporting documents, and ensure accurate records for admissions decisions.
- Collaborate with the Admissions team in running new family welcome events.
- Actively participate in the K-6 community and relevant events.
- Pursue professional development opportunities to remain informed about best practices in admissions and elementary education.
- Ability to spend long hours in stationary positions, using computers and office equipment
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in education, child development, or a related field is required.
- At least two years of professional experience in education or admissions.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills, particularly with parents/guardians.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and admissions databases, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Familiarity with early childhood and elementary assessment tools is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of early childhood and elementary education, including child development milestones.
- Familiarity with independent school admissions cycles and enrollment strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect meaningfully with children and families.
