We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Chief Legal Officer. This role is pivotal in providing strategic counsel to the executive leadership team and managing the firm’s legal affairs. You will be instrumental in leading change, driving business growth, and managing risks effectively. What You'll Be Doing:

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team providing strategic guidance, insights, and recommendations to support business growth and protect the firm’s legal interests.
• Maintain and develop expert knowledge in laws and regulations relevant to the firm.
• Advise on new business opportunities, including investments and mergers and acquisitions, ensuring that all legal aspects are thoroughly assessed and aligned with strategic goals.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage firm legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
• Oversee legal disputes, including alternative dispute resolution, arbitration, and litigation, offering counsel on litigation risks and managing legal processes.
• Develop and lead legal strategies to protect and promote the firm including the management of intellectual property and licensing agreements.
• Manage the efficient use of outside counsel.
  
  

What You'll Need for This Position:

• JD required and active license in good standing to practice law in the United States.
• Proven success within a similar role.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance legal risks and business objectives effectively from mergers and acquisitions to operational policies.
• Depth of experience in in contract reading, writing, and interpreting.
• Ability to operate independently as a department of one, envisioning long-term goals and strategies.
• Excellent relationship-building skills, with an emphasis on quickly establishing trust and credibility across all levels of an organization.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.
• High level of integrity, humility, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Comfortable giving rapid advice and opinions, with the capacity to offer further research when necessary.
• Availability to travel up to 25%, including monthly meetings with the CEO in Northern Colorado.
• Location in Central or Mountain time zones is preferred.

Compensation: In some states and municipalities, Pinion is required by law to include a reasonable estimate for range of compensation. When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $225,000 to $275,000.

Remote Eligibility: This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at a Pinion office or attendance at offsites, as requested/required by the firm and/or your supervisor.
