About the Job
We are hiring a Scientist I, Product Development to be a key member of our Product Development Team. This position will be part of a team developing NGS-based molecular diagnostic assays for use in clinical labs in collaboration with cross-functional groups. The successful candidate will have solid knowledge in molecular biology and molecular genetic analysis technologies.
- We are seeking a PhD in Molecular Genetics or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Solid knowledge of advanced molecular genetic analysis technologies, including nucleic acid extraction, qPCR and NGS analysis.
- Executes and interprets experiments enabling novel molecular diagnostic assays with supervision.
- Ensures faithful execution of SOPs and accurate and consistent recording of experimental methods, materials and results.
- Analyzes experimental results and forms conclusions based on molecular biology principles.
- Prepares written reports and presentations summarizing experimental results and presents to the R&D team.
- Supports research documentations, including reports, protocols and template worksheets as needed.
- Supports routine lab operations including ordering, equipment maintenance and safety inspection as needed.
- Ensures activities are conducted within internal and external guidelines and regulations.
- A proactive, solution-orientated mindset with excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to cross-functional teams.
- Experience executing molecular assays on automated liquid handling platforms is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint or equivalent required.
- Ability to multi-task as needed in a start-up environment.
