Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Banquet Coordinator to oversee and coordinate banquet events at our venue. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food and beverage industry and possess exceptional customer service skills. As a Banquet Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the banquet service run smoothly, providing an exceptional experience for our guests from the beginning planning stages to the end of the event.
Duties
- Event Planning and Coordination: Work side by side with the Director of Sales while collaborating with clients to understand their event needs, manage details like guest count, table arrangements, menu selection, and décor.
- Ordering: Work closely with the DOS on orderling specialty linens, audio visual and other equipment pieces as needed.
- Communication and Reporting: Communicate effectively with clients, kitchen staff, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination.
- Staff Supervision: Lead and direct a team of banquet servers, bartenders, and other event staff, assigning tasks and ensuring proper execution of service standards.
- Pre-event Setup: Work with the DOS and client to complete floor plans and the setup of the banquet space, including tables, chairs, linens, decorations, and equipment according to event specifications.
- Food and Beverage Service: Monitor the timely delivery of food and beverages, address any guest requests or concerns regarding the meal service.
- Guest Service: Maintain a high level of customer service, anticipate guest needs, and resolve any issues promptly.
- Post-event Breakdown: Coordinate the breakdown of the event space, including clearing tables, cleaning up, and ensuring proper equipment storage.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of food presentation, service standards, and overall event execution.
- Training and Development: May provide training and coaching to banquet staff on service procedures and event protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in banquet or catering settings.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse clientele effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Creation of BEO's, timelines, floor plans, etc are a plus
- Hotel and computer skill are a plus
