Job Description
Transports residents to and from designated locations based on established routes, activities calendars, or the Ancillary Services Manager generated appointment schedule. Typical transportation includes: shuttle service, planned activities, medical appoints and private transportation. Maintains fleet vehicles.
WORK PERFORMED
- Drives organization vehicles to transports residents to and from regular and scheduled activities and appointments on and off campus in a safe, prompt and timely manner.
- Services the transportation vehicles; checking and replenishing fuel, oil, and water supplies. Cleans inside and outside the vehicles on a regular basis and sees that all vehicles are clean prior to use.
- Coordinates the Resident's appointments with the Ancillary Services Manager and/or Concierge.
- Assist with event setups or other services required by the Resident Services Department.
- Records and reports any maintenance problems and fills out an incident report whenever problems occur. Keeps a mileage/gas logbook as well as a route book. Maintains vehicle registrations, inspections, license, and records. Reports needs to the Ancillary Services Manager.
- Provides pick-ups and deliveries for department heads on a daily basis when it does not interfere with regularly scheduled transportation as directed through the Ancillary Services Manager or Lead Transportation Driver.
ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Responsible for the safety and comfort of all passengers, adhering and enforcing the transportation policies at all times. (Refer to transportation policies.)
- Holiday, inclement weather and a flexible work schedule are required in facilities management to meet the needs of the job. Team members are required to be available for unforeseen circumstances and emergencies.
QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY
Ability to communicate effectively with residents and coordinate a heavy workload while maintaining calm, composed manner. Knowledge of first aid and/or CPR required per state regulations. Must possess an accident/violation free driving record and a current Medical Examiners Certificate.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical requirements may include frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs) bending, stooping, walking or standing during work shift. Experiences constant demands from residents, families, team members and schedules. Ability to move in and out of the vehicles to assist residents and ability to sit for long periods of time.
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Commercial driver’s license (CDL) with P endorsement preferred .
Must possess an accident/violation free driving record.
First aid and CPR required.
DOT physical, DOT drug screening & current Medical Examiners Certificate required.
