Blending Supervisor

Department: Operations Job Status: Full Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To Blending Manager

Positions Supervised: Blenders, Flush Technicians

POSITION SUMMARY

The Blending Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to the supervision of the blending department, blending product, blending process and Area Maintenance/Housekeeping.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES

This is a comprehensive list, but not limited to:

  • Supervise the daily activities of all blending personnel including, but not limited to, proper blending processes, pigging, blowing of lines, etc.
  • Print production schedules and assign tanks for the day.
  • Assign blenders their daily work schedule including carryovers, new blends, and transfers.
  • Audit the Empty Railcar Verification program daily and ensure all railcars are properly accounted for.
  • Audit the railcar program daily for samples collected.
  • Ensure the railyard is ready to receive CSX and perform all activities associated with railcar switches.
  • Responsible for Blending Supplies Inventory
  • Perform Primary and Secondary QC checks on blend sheets
  • Verify all time punches are correct and address attendance issues with blenders.
  • Perform blends or adjustments if necessary.
  • Report out all metrics during daily GEMBA walk.
  • Maintain flush tote level at or below 250 at all times.
  • Other Assigned projects/tasks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and follow complex blending instructions.
  • Assign workload to individual blenders
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Work with upper management to improve and solve problems
  • Ability to log and convey detailed work history of blends
  • Forklift experience
  • Good interpersonal skills and written communication skills with the ability to communicate well with others
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Willingness to work mandatory overtime
  • Employees are expected to work productively and safely

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. A.S. is preferred

Experience: Minimum 3 year’s supervisor in manufacturing, preferred in the oil industry

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 4:30pm - 3:00am Monday- Friday and alternating Saturdays based on business needs
