Position Summary
The Human Resources Administrative Assistant will support the daily operations of the Human Resources (HR) department. This role involves performing administrative tasks, facilitating communication between employees and HR, and helping with the recruitment and onboarding processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent communication skills.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, maintaining employee records, and preparing HR documents such as employment contracts and recruitment guides.
- Recruitment Assistance: Assist in the recruitment process by posting job vacancies, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
- Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including setting up workstations, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed, and conducting orientation sessions.
- Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs. Assist in maintaining positive employee relations and a supportive work environment.
- Data Management: Maintain and update HR databases and employee files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Compliance: Assist in ensuring HR compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Event Coordination: Help organize and coordinate company events, training sessions, and employee recognition programs.
- Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by the HR Manager.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in a Human Resources department.
- Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and familiarity with HR software and databases.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to handle confidential information with discretion.
Travel and Hours
This role typically operates in an office environment. The position may require occasional travel to attend job fairs, training sessions, or other HR-related events.
