The Production Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of 9 pullet buildings. This person will be in a hands-on position taking care of all the details involved in the growing of pullets, including but not limited to :
Job Requirements :
- Facility and Equipment Operations.
- Ensure feed systems are working and pullets are getting fed.
- Monitor feed inventories and determining feed formulas
- Making sure mortality is being properly tracked in order to know how many pullets are in the barn at all times.
- Ensure water systems are working and pullets are getting water.
- Ensure ventilation systems are working.
- Managing the manure system for the given type of building.
- Bio-security Management.
- Supervision of multiple staff members and service crews when onsite.
- Maintaining thorough and accurate flock records, including weekly reports
- Collect barn data regarding feed, lights, air circulation, temperature, water supply, equipment, compost, general cleanliness, and task completion. Report discrepancies and fix issues where needed
- Ensure communication is maintained between management, barn staff, and the office.
- Pest Control Management
- Daily Housekeeping and routine preventative maintenance
- Helping maintain equipment and make repairs as needed.
- Supervising placement of new chicks in the building.
- Supervising splitting birds from one cage to another as space requirements for the pullets increases.
- Supervising cleaning and sanitation of buildings between flocks.
- Supervise outside crew during vaccinations and loadout of birds to the customer.
