This is an on-site position in Akron, OH and no relocation is being offered. Only local candidates will be considered.
What is the Role and Responsibilities?
The Staff Accountant will work directly with the Controller and Senior Financial Analyst and be responsible for the monitoring and posting of transactions to the general ledger and related analysis of general ledger accounts. They will assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and analysis, monitoring and improving internal control processes, and backup certain critical Accounting functions. Potential for future advancement within the Company.
Core Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Setup new customers Customers, Suppliers, Transportation providers; Certificate of Insurance management
- Month End Close - monthly expense report approvals; bank reconciliations; benefit and payroll accruals; other journal entries as directed
- Quarterly CAT (Commercial Activity) tax reporting
- Fixed Asset – manages the fixed asset records of the Company including asset additions, disposals & construction in proces
- Training, Development & Education in following areas:
- Capex Tracking
- Accounting Close & Financial Reporting for Business Units
- Review of nightly job-stream reports monitoring the accuracy, completeness of daily activity
- Cash Management, Banking, Credit Agreement, Borrowing Base
- Inventory functions in Accounting system
- Assist with conversion to new Accounting software package
Who are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone with an Accounting or Finance degree with 3-5 years of experience in an Accounting position. The individual will be required to multi-task and adapt to new situations and opportunities. Below are additional attributes and qualifications:
- Strong Excel and Word skills
- Strong organization, prioritization, and time management
- Detail-oriented
- Flexible with the ability to adapt to changing business needs
- General knowledge of ERP systems
- Self-starter

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
