Our client, a family-owned manufacturer of masonry products for residential and commercial applications is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Operations in Maine.
The Director of Manufacturing Operations will oversee all manufacturing activities across the two manufacturing plants. The Director will have a strong emphasis on developing and executing forward-looking manufacturing strategies. This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, ensuring high quality and safety standards, and positioning the company for long-term success. The Director will work closely with other departments to align manufacturing goals with overall business objectives and future growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement comprehensive manufacturing strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards across all manufacturing processes.
- Lead and mentor the manufacturing team(s), fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Manage budgets and financial performance related to manufacturing operations.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities in the manufacturing industry and incorporate them into the company's strategic plans.
- Develop and execute long-term strategies to position the company for future growth and success including driving innovation and the adoption of new technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior manufacturing leadership role, with a high preference for experience within the construction or building materials industry. Experience with Concrete, PreCast or Block Manufacturing is a PLUS.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and drive operational improvements.
