Job Shift & Days: 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM (Monday to Friday)
Flexible to work 1st (8:00 am-4:30 pm) and 2nd (4:30 pm-12:30 am) shifts when needed.
Qualifications: An exciting opportunity for a contract Polymer Synthesis Lab Technician. The technician will be responsible for polymer production and support of product process/quality improvement as well as general lab maintenance and housekeeping. Our pilot plant runs 50L to 100L glass reactors for the production of high purity polymers used in semiconductor manufacturing applications. This technician position reports to lab supervisor and works closely with other technicians, chemists, and the quality team.
Responsibilities This position will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Perform polymer synthesis & purification in 50L to 100L reactors in pilot-lab
• Supports quality improvement and other production-related activities as assigned
• Maintaining labs, including cleaning of glassware, waste management, transfer of solvents from the plant to the labs, keeping track of raw material consumptions, and general housekeeping.
• Documentation of experiments, production, and scale-up work
Requirement:
High school education with lab experience, associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related technical or scientific field
Experience in chemical synthesis in the lab or chemical manufacturing environment.
Able to perform physical work (e.g., lifting to 20kg.). and use drum carts to move upto180kg consistent with corporate ergonomic guidelines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
Willing and able to wear personal protective equipment including a respirator, safety shoes, goggles, and gloves.
The following skill and experience are preferred by the site:
• Experience working in chemical process or lab operation environment is a plus.
• Experience in polymer chemistry and synthesis.
• Experience working with glass reactors and setting up glassware for organic synthesis.
• Strong personal commitment to safety, lab housekeeping, and ethical behaviour.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Motivated self-starter, fast learner, problem solver, and team player.
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and ability to multi-task.
