What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mapping Specialist position at Pinnacle?
The Pinnacle Group, a leading provider of environmental compliance services, is seeking a Mapping Specialist to work with our agronomy group to provide assistance in the preparation and assembly of nutrient/manure management plans and construction permits. A background or knowledge base in agriculture is preferred, but not required. We will provide the necessary training. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Input and tracking of manure application data and nutrient plan data. Maintain and populate GPS/GIS database. Use programs such as SMS, and Microsoft Office software. Produce soil sampling maps, data, and files. Implement attention to detail enforcement process.
- Assist marketing of manure management plans and provide technical support for GPS/GIS systems. Promote and increase crop-input sales with potential and existing producers.
- Assist growers and nutrient recipients to organize nutrient application and efforts. Produce and distribute planning forms and rate sheets. Supply technical support with new technology/software/handhelds.
- Track coordination of nutrient application updating. Produce and compile application billing and manure management plan information. Distribute and maintain manure management plan updates.
- Implement producer contact and tracking of special projects. Assist research studies as needed. Track data and produce reports/summaries.
Education
- Two or four year degree desired with an emphasis in one of the following: Agronomy, Agricultural Studies, Agricultural Business, Swine Management, Farm Business Management, Animal Science, Agricultural Systems Technology, Computer Science, Environmental Science or another agriculture, computer, or science-related discipline is recommended.
