JOB GOAL: To perform secretarial and clerical services for the Maintenance Department.

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Governing Board Policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
Terms of Employment: 12 months
Salary: Classified Placement Schedule - Grade 2
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Types a variety of memos, correspondence, lists, requisitions, statistical reports, maintenance work orders, etc
- Maintains a variety of records and files, including parts inventories, personnel records, and related maintenance files
- Inputs and updates a variety of information in a computer
- Maintains and processes departmental payroll information and keeps track of absences, leaves, etc
- Follows up on work orders and requisitions for facilities and housing
- Prepares a variety of reports
- Obtains price quotations from vendors and handles phone calls
- Order supplies for office and equipment
- Assists in facilitating attendance at workshops and training sessions
- Handles incoming calls and provides appropriate information
- Translates and interprets as required
- Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent with additional training in specialized business courses is preferred
- Three years of progressively responsible secretarial experience that involved carrying out and coordinating day-to-day administrative support activities for Maintenance and Operations
- Excellent human relations/communication skills
- Bilingual (Navajo/English)
- Working knowledge of standard business machines, including Macintosh, PCs, and programs such as Word Perfect, Excel, PowerPoint, and use of a 10-key calculator
