SUMMARY
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented OSHA and DOT Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring our company adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of OSHA and DOT standards, be proactive in identifying potential compliance risks, and help create and implement policies and training programs to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, and maintain OSHA and DOT compliance programs to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Monitor workplace safety, including conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and DOT regulations.
- Stay up to date with changes to OSHA and DOT regulations and ensure the company remains compliant with any new or updated requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of reports and documentation required by OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory bodies.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions and workshops for employees to ensure awareness of safety regulations and procedures.
- Review and investigate workplace accidents and incidents, ensuring proper documentation and reporting in compliance with OSHA and DOT requirements.
- Work closely with HR, Safety Managers, and other departments to address safety concerns, provide guidance, and implement corrective actions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for OSHA and DOT inspections, ensuring all necessary documentation and procedures are in place for successful audits.
- Monitor driver qualifications, hours of service (HOS), and vehicle maintenance logs to ensure DOT compliance.
- Assist with the implementation of drug and alcohol testing programs, ensuring adherence to DOT guidelines.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of compliance records, certifications, training documentation, and inspection reports.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and DOT safety standards.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety protocols, accident investigation, and safety reporting.
- Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local safety and compliance regulations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and compliance management software.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and safety protocols.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in OSHA and DOT compliance, safety, or regulatory affairs.
- Experience in logistics or transportation industry compliance.
- Experience with DOT and OSHA audits and inspections.
- Experience with DOT driver and vehicle compliance, including maintenance and hours-of-service regulations.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant safety certifications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs.
- Able to pass a drug test.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
