What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist/Clerical position at Pioneer Counseling Services?
Pioneer Counseling Services, a full-service, community based mental health facility, is currently accepting applications for a Receptionist/Clerical position.
Applicants must have a High School Degree or demonstrate high school equivalency/GED, and have one year of relevant experience and/or training scheduling and customer service. Knowledge and relevant experience with Microsoft Office programs and/or InSync a plus.
Applicants must also be able to pass a background check, including not having been convicted of a felony.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
1. Front desk reception, answering the telephone, directing calls, checking in clients.
2. Maintaining the daily schedule for the clinicians.
3. Typing and other data entry functions based on assignment.
4. Maintaining files and documentation according to Agency deadlines.
5. Operating and maintaining office equipment including fax, copier, scanner, shredder.
6. Operating and maintaining computer equipment including telehealth equipment.
7. Providing secretarial support to the clinical staff.
8. Completing intake and enrollment paperwork with new clients.
9. Collecting and accounting for income received.
10. Assist with processing of medical billing.

1. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients of all ages and backgrounds. This includes demonstrating a positive attitude, respect, professionalism and excellent customer service.
2. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel, stakeholders and supervisors including the ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary Team.
3. Basic skills in the use of computer equipment, ability to maintain electronic records and complete documentation within established timeframes.
4. Ability and self-motivation to work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
5. Ability to exercise sound judgement, good decision making skills, and common sense.
6. Ability to adapt and be flexible as needs change and the situation demands.
7. Commitment to uphold the highest ethical standards, adherence to Agency policies and procedures and conformance to all CARF standards related to this position.
8. Ability to remain solution-focused and calm when addressing a crisis or conflict.
9. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to maintain client confidentiality.
