The Computer & Information Systems Technician will work closely with software engineers to enhance the performance and reliability of Navy applications, services, and database infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Support the daily operational requirements of computer network systems, including workstations, file servers, and web servers.
- Install and maintain hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, security settings, interfaces, and design documentation.
- Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate network systems, including LAN, WAN, cloud infrastructure, and servers.
- Apply knowledge of current and emerging technologies, operating systems, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Collaborate with IT teams and project stakeholders to ensure smooth system integration and performance.
- Address system vulnerabilities and manage security incidents using analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to Agile Scrum development cycles and provide technical support for engineering efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or one (1) or more years of relevant experience; additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Proficiency in IT security and information assurance technologies.
- Relevant Computing or Database Computer Environment (CE) certifications.
- Expertise in server networking, application tier integration, and technology security/compliance management.
- Experience supporting projects within an Agile Scrum framework.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
- Experience working in military or defense IT environments.
- Prior involvement in cross-functional engineering teams.
