Computer Technician

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Pioneering Evolution is seeking a skilled Computer & Information Systems Technician to support software engineering teams. This role requires a motivated, conceptual thinker with strong experience in IT systems engineering, complex system design, and integration. The Computer & Information Systems Technician will work closely with software engineers to enhance the performance and reliability of Navy applications, services, and database infrastructure. This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the daily operational requirements of computer network systems, including workstations, file servers, and web servers.

• Install and maintain hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, security settings, interfaces, and design documentation.

• Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate network systems, including LAN, WAN, cloud infrastructure, and servers.

• Apply knowledge of current and emerging technologies, operating systems, and cybersecurity best practices.

• Collaborate with IT teams and project stakeholders to ensure smooth system integration and performance.

• Address system vulnerabilities and manage security incidents using analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Contribute to Agile Scrum development cycles and provide technical support for engineering efforts.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or one (1) or more years of relevant experience; additional experience may be substituted for a degree.

• Proficiency in IT security and information assurance technologies.

• Relevant Computing or Database Computer Environment (CE) certifications.

• Expertise in server networking, application tier integration, and technology security/compliance management.

• Experience supporting projects within an Agile Scrum framework.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

• U.S. Citizenship.

• Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance.

• Willingness and ability to travel as required.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working in military or defense IT environments.

• Prior involvement in cross-functional engineering teams.
