What are the responsibilities and job description for the DevSecOps Engineer position at Pioneering Evolution?
POSITION DESCRIPTION : Pioneering Evolution is seeking a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer to assist in implementing and maintaining cloud security, automation, and deployment pipelines. This role will work closely with senior DevSecOps engineers to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient AWS infrastructure management. This position requires a Secret Clearance and is based in the Washington D.C. metro area, with on-site requirements as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist in developing secure AWS cloud architectures, focusing on AWS Fargate, RDS, and IAM.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Support CI / CD pipeline automation and enhance deployment workflows.
Monitor cloud security events, responding to incidents and performing remediation.
Conduct vulnerability scanning and remediation across containerized applications.
Assist in security audits and compliance efforts for NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and CIS Benchmarks.
Optimize AWS cost management and performance monitoring tools.
Collaborate with developers to integrate DevSecOps best practices into the SDLC.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in cloud security, DevOps, or DevSecOps engineering.
Experience with AWS services, including IAM, VPCs, CloudTrail, and Security Hub.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Familiarity with CI / CD tools such as AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
Knowledge of container security best practices for Docker and AWS Fargate.
Basic scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
Experience implementing security best practices in AWS IAM roles and policies.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance; therefore, U.S. citizenship is required.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE :
Experience with motion design and micro-interactions to enhance user engagement.
Experience with user analytics and A / B testing to refine design choices.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaboration within cross-functional teams.
Experience working with DevSecOps teams to ensure security is integrated into front-end development.
Experience with API design and integration in front-end applications.
