Brief Summary :
Under the general supervision of the Associate Administrator for Support Services, is responsible for the Environmental Cleaning Services in the district’s premises. Plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates and controls the activities of the Environmental Services Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Plan, organize supervise, educate and coordinate the Environmental Services activities.
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations for the safe handling and storage of hazardous materials.
- Develop financial budget for areas of responsibility and manage activities within the approved financial plan. Explain variances effectively and timely, monitor expenses, including labor, with emphasis on cost containment and reduction.
- Investigate new and improved cleaning equipment, methods and supplies and communicate information to employees; perform periodic inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Effectively manage personnel matters including conflict resolution, adherence to policies and employment regulations, staff development, team building, employee morale, and staff competency.
- Ensure linen supply is clean and that there is an adequate supply available at all times. Review linen usage statistics and maintain loss and cost controls.
- Maintain established hospital and department Policy and Procedures, Quality Assurance, Safety, Environmental and Infection Control objectives.
- Organize and perform department recruitment within established directives.
- Establish areas of responsibility for timely completion of annual requirements (annual orientation, licensures, certifications, fit-testing, and etc…)
- Assists with training of Environmental Service personnel as directed by Supervisor.
- Assures staff are inspecting equipment for proper operation daily and reporting equipment in need of repair
- Maintain good public relations with all patient, facility and staff personnel.
- Answers day to day questions as they arise and pertain to general housekeeping.
- If working PM or Night Shifts, leave notes for Manager to review i.e., project works completed, work not completed or any unusual occurrences for that evening.
