Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Analyze blueprints and other project documents to determine project requirements and scope.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
- Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for estimating purposes.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
- Provide support in the preparation of bids and proposals for potential projects.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and practices.
- Proficiency in construction management software, particularly Bluebeam.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and specifications.
- Effective negotiation skills to secure favorable contract terms.
- Familiarity with cost control measures in construction projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Experience in project management is a plus, with an understanding of the overall construction process from start to finish.
