Summary:

The Manager – Pipeline Integrity reports to the Director – Pipeline Integrity. The Manager will provide oversight and manage a team of pipeline integrity engineers and project managers to maintain the Company Integrity Management Plans for intrastate and interstate liquid and natural gas pipelines, and complete integrity assessments. The Manager will stay current with pipeline regulations, industry standards, integrity assessment methods and repair methods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides oversight and manages a team of pipeline integrity engineers and project managers.
  • Implement, update, and evaluate on an ongoing basis ET’s Gas and Liquid Integrity Management Plan, as well as standards, forms, and procedures to support the IMP, ensuring compliance with all Federal and State pipeline safety regulations.
  • Oversees the coordination and scheduling of Internal Line Inspections (ILI) smart pig surveys, anomaly dig activities and pipeline pressure tests.
  • Works with integrity engineers to analyze ILI data with communication and coordination of pipeline repair activities in response to ILI anomalies. Performs threat and risk analysis.
  • Responsible for providing engineering support in the evaluation of integrity assessment results to identify necessary remediation. Advises engineering and construction groups to facilitate long term operation, maintenance, and assessment of newly installed or retrofitted facilities.
  • Supports, prepares, and recommends annual operating budget and is responsible for monthly cost projections.
  • Works with operations, liquid & gas control, corrosion, GIS and other integrity personnel on a regular basis for efficient implementation of the pipeline integrity management plan.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8 years of experience, including experience in pipeline design, pipeline repair, corrosion control, and inspection and integrity
  • Must be knowledgeable of oil and gas engineering principals, standards and specifications, industry and regulatory rules and regulations pertaining to the 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195 for pipelines and related facilities, Texas Administrative Code Rule 8.101 plus other industry standards (API, ASME, NACE), guidelines and codes.
  • Strong oral/written communication skills, administrative/organizational skills and analytical/problem solving skills required.
  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document and complete work independently.
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to manage multiple work tasks and changing priorities.
  • Ability to analyze data and apply critical thinking skills to generate options and solutions.
  • Solid understanding of pipeline assessments, operations, maintenances, and pipeline risk-based asset integrity management.
  • Strong computer skills including but not limited to solid proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and pipeline risk software.
  • Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel.Must be a team player and self-motivated with a high level of energy.


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Metallurgy).

Working Conditions:

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  •  Must be able to remain in a stationary position at times due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  •  Occasional travel, including overnight travel, required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
