What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist position at Pipeline To God Communications, Inc?
Pipeline Behavioral Health Services is looking for a self-motivated and focused individual to process billing for all Commercial Insurances, Medicaid, and Medicare. The Billing Specialist is responsible for the processing, analysis and support of the billing data and system. Must have knowledge of and be comfortable with Medicaid Redesign, although the focus is on Commercial insurance. This is a part-time independent contractor position with growth potential.
Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:
- Manage the collection of information required for billing: submit primary & secondary claims, follow-up on claims rejections and resubmit claims.
- Organize and input client authorization and insurance carrier information.
- Research missing, denied or underpaid services and initiates corrective actions.
- Coordinates efforts with insurance carriers, as needed, to research billing & payment related matters.
- Have a basic knowledge of the Web-based Therapy Notes EMR Software Billing System & can adjudicate claims through the system as well as issue statements, etc. Flexible scheduling with some in-office as well as hybrid opportunities.
The ideal candidate for the Billing Specialist position has experience coding, is able to analyze data for billing or clinical irregularities, i.e., identify overlapping services, incorrect coding etc. and has the ability and initiative to research any irregularities and take corrective actions.
The candidate's experience, attention to detail, trustworthiness, and willingness to be part of a team effort is valued and are important considerations in this position.
Education and Experience:
- Two years’ experience in related field. Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
- Experience in a mental health or healthcare setting is considered an asset for the position.
