They are looking for a skilled renewable energy professional to join their dynamic team as a Project Developer, where you’ll play a pivotal role in advancing renewable energy projects from inception to Notice to Proceed (NTP).
About the Role:
As a Project Developer, you will oversee the development of distributed generation (DG) and community-scale renewable energy projects, primarily in the Northeast. You’ll leverage your expertise in land acquisition, permitting, interconnection, and regulatory processes to ensure projects progress efficiently through the development pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from land acquisition through NTP, including lease option payments.
- Navigate permitting processes and collaborate with regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Work closely with local utilities to address interconnection requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive timely project advancement.
- Support project development in the Northeast, with potential involvement in projects based in other markets.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience: 2–4 years working with a DG/community-scale renewable energy developer or independent power producer (IPP).
- Regional Expertise: Strong understanding of development in Northeast states; Illinois experience is a plus.
- Skillset: Extensive experience in permitting, regulatory engagement, and utility interconnection.
- Collaborative: Effective at working with diverse teams and managing external partnerships.
- Driven: Passionate about renewable energy and committed to delivering high-quality projects on schedule.
