Monday - Friday, 8:30a-5p
Responsibilities:
Resident Care
- Provides Respite Care and Personal Care Visits.
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity.
- Obtain and document vital signs as needed.
- Collect specimens as instructed under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, pendants, and pull cords, notifying the Community Wellness Nurse or security as necessary.
- Complete Incident Reports and provide assistance as needed.
- Get to know each resident’s unique preferences, goals, and needs to ensure individualized care.
- Encourage independence, attendance at activities, restorative programs, and rehabilitation.
- Foster a calm, welcoming atmosphere where residents feel comfortable sharing their needs and concerns.
- Utilize inactive time to engage with residents and enrich their quality of life.
Housekeeping & Safety Responsibilities
- Change bed linens, make beds, and keep rooms clean and orderly.
- Maintains safe and sanitary work practices, stations, and equipment, to prevent injury to self and others.
Resident Engagement & Activities
- Actively engage residents in daily activities or social events that align with their interests and abilities (e.g., arts and crafts, exercise, group discussions).
- Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
Administrative & Documentation Responsibilities
- Document residents’ interactions with the Wellness Center.
- Maintain proficiency in scheduling software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Answer phones and email correspondence, including handling calls, scheduling consultations, and managing patient queries or concerns.
- Manage UNE provider schedules, ensuring efficient appointment coordination.
- Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Serve as a liaison between UNE staff, Wellness staff, and residents to ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain knowledge of the Piper Shores Mission Statement and Employee Handbook.
Other Responsibilities

- Deliver pharmacy packages as needed.
- Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Maine C.N.A. certification required. Piper Shores will sponsor payment of a training program for candidates without a current certification.
- Experience working with a senior population preferred; will provide training to entry-level candidates
- Warm and friendly demeanor with a positive approach to interacting with Seniors and co-workers
- Ability to stand and move for extended period of time, ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently required. All bed lifts are completed using mechanical lifts.
