This role is critical to maintaining product integrity and compliance during night shift operations.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of fabricated parts, welds, and assemblies to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Verify measurements using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Perform visual weld inspections and ensure adherence to welding procedures and codes (AWS, ASME, etc.)
- Document inspection results, non-conformances, and generate reports as needed
- Work closely with production teams to address quality concerns and provide feedback on corrective actions
- Ensure proper handling and identification of non-conforming materials
- Assist in maintaining and updating quality documentation, including inspection checklists and records
- Support audits and compliance checks related to quality standards and shop procedures
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in quality inspection, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge: Familiarity with welding symbols, blueprints, GD&T, and industry standards (AWS, ASME, ISO, etc.)
- Skills: Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection tools
- Certifications (Preferred): AWS CWI, ASNT NDT Level I/II, or other relevant certifications
- Other: Ability to work independently on night shifts with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- The working environment is 5-10% in an office setting and 90-95% in a manufacturing environment that includes exposure to industrial equipment
