In this role you'll plan, test, and implement upgrades to our systems, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance on complex issues and ensuring the reliability, security, and optimizations of IT infrastructure
- Configure and maintain server hardware to ensure optimal performance
- Plan and implement software upgrades to support system growth and scalability
- Support and maintain virtualization environments
- Establish, refine, and implement best practices
- Manage and maintain Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and access controls
- Administer, and manage Windows server roles such as DNS, DHCP, RDS, and File Services
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, ensuring performance and security
- Manage data protection measures, including backups and recovery processes, while ensuring antivirus and endpoint security solutions are up-to-date and effective
- Collaborate with external vendors to facilitate specialized services or technical support as needed
- Continuously monitor system performance, network health, and storage capacity to proactively identify and address potential issues, ensuring optimal uptime and efficiency
- Serve as the primary escalation point for the IT team, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex technical issues
- Mentor team members and provide education to users on system processes and best practices
- 5-10 years of experience in systems administration (preferred)
- Hands-on experience with VMware
- Proficiency in scripting for automation and task management
- Competency with multiple operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux)
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and with end-users
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including querying, maintenance, and performance optimization, is a plus
