Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles to support our financial operations effectively.
Duties
- Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording accounts payable transactions and performing general ledger reconciliations.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and answer inquiries related to payments.
- Assist in payroll processing as needed, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with payroll regulations.
- Utilize accounting software such as Quicken, ADP, UltiPro, or Sage for efficient processing of accounts payable tasks.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends or discrepancies that may require further investigation.
- Support month-end closing processes by preparing necessary reports and documentation related to accounts payable activities.
- Contribute to the improvement of accounts payable processes by identifying areas for efficiency gains.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial data effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective communication skills to interact with vendors and internal stakeholders.
