Position: Learning Assistant (LPN) – Part-Time
Position Overview:
This non-teaching position assists course instructor(s) in transferring nursing knowledge to students in the classroom, workshops, and other learning opportunities. The Learning Assistant also supports students struggling with the subject matter during or after class sessions. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), the Learning Assistant serves as an important role model for students.
Primary Job Requirements:
- Ensure classroom and instructional materials are operational and prepared for each class session.
- Record classroom attendance for each class session.
- Establish and maintain a classroom learning and testing environment.
- Administer examinations and other student assessments.
- Assist in grading examinations and other student assessments.
- Help underperforming students understand the course subject matter.
- Provide remediation to students before or after class sessions.
- Deliver assignments to students when the instructor is late or absent.
- Share with students successful techniques for passing the NCLEX-PN.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Position Reports To:
- The Director of Practical Nursing assigns the Learning Assistant to specific courses, remediation workshops, and other assignments based on need.
- Once assigned to a specific course, the Learning Assistant reports directly to the course instructor.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with an unencumbered license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or another state where PITC Institute operates.
This is a part-time position based on the needs of PITC Institute.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
Schedule:
- Weekends as needed
