What are the responsibilities and job description for the Road and Bridge Supervisor position at Pitkin County?
Oversees field operations of the Road and Bridge crew to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, safety procedures and environmental considerations.
Assists with prioritizing tasks and assigning personnel to optimize workflow and efficiency.
Oversees the Road and Bridge safety and training program, trains apprentice personnel in the safe operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, personal protective equipment, and other tools.
Supervises and participates in the operation of heavy machinery and maintenance work; assists with equipment repairs; responds to emergency situations.
Promotes teamwork and effective communication among crew members to ensure efficient project completion and a safe work environment.
Provides feedback to management regarding employee performance.
Supports the relationship between Pitkin County government and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
3 years experience at a senior-level in department or function operating heavy machinery in a construction or maintenance environment.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
ICS 100, 200, 300, Flagger, and CPR certifications required within one year of hire.
Must possess a valid Colorado Commercial Driver’s License (Class B with Tanker Endorsement).
Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

Salary : $65,329 - $114,326
