Description of Job Responsibilities
Poultry house cleaning and preparation oversight. Walking through multiple poultry barns on multiple ranches. Measuring differing criteria while observing tractor operators and house conditions. Understanding of Poultry Husbandry when birds are and are not present. Oversee the movement of equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
· Supervise and manage clean-up activities
· Training tractor drivers and workers
· Monitoring house conditions prior to and at the end of clean-up
· Assist with coordinating clean-up/ set-up
· Paperwork/data entry
· Tracking and reporting equipment maintenance and damages.
· Monitoring estimating current and future projections.
· Safety training records
· Develop and maintain programs
· Make adjustments accordingly
· Maintain proper cleaners and disinfectants
· Understand chemical and pesticide applications
Decision Making Responsibilities:
Make suggestions on decisions about personnel, suggest purchases of new equipment and repair of existing equipment. Purchases supplies as needed for the crew and other purchases through various venders and suppliers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Up to 20 direct reports
· Approximately 20 indirect reports
Working and Environmental Conditions:
Physical demands can vary day-to-day but includes standing, walking, sitting, lifting etc. The environmental condition can vary as well but can be cold, hot, wet, humid, dusty, and noisy.
Working Relationships:
Ranch Technical Advisors, Hatchery, Scheduling, Equipment Shop, Accounting, Human Resources and Live Haul Departments.
Mechanical Shops, Vendors, County AG Department, Environmental Health Department, NPIP (National Poultry Improvement Plan), USDA (US Department of agriculture), CAL/OSHA (California Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science or related agriculture degree (desired)
· Traveling
· Strong leadership and organizational skills
· Computer proficiency/MS Office
· Bi-lingual (desired)
· Private Applicator Certification (desired)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
