Job Description:
The Pittsburg Family YMCA is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team. As a member of the YMCA, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and community-focused environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting individuals of all ages and backgrounds, promoting healthy lifestyles, and contributing to the mission of the YMCA. Our Welcome Center operates between 4:00 AM and 9:00 PM, with varying hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service to members, participants, and guests.
- Support daily operations to maintain a safe, welcoming, and clean environment.
- Enforce YMCA policies and procedures to ensure a positive experience for all.
- Stay informed about YMCA programs and services to assist and engage members effectively.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, participants, and the community.
- Monitor program areas for safety, responding promptly to any concerns or incidents.
- Assist with administrative duties, including attendance tracking, record management, and registration support.
- Work collaboratively with team members to support the YMCA’s mission and community impact.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to the YMCA mission, values, and community engagement.
- Previous experience in customer service or working with people is preferred.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and complete required certifications/training (e.g., CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse and Neglect Training, or program-specific training).
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks as required by the position.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary. If you’re unable to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, this position may not be the right fit for you or the Pittsburg Family YMCA.
- Must be able to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
