Job Summary :
The Pittsburgh Penguins seek a Senior Manager of Marketing to help set the strategic vision for Penguins marketing and help develop and foster key initiatives for the Penguins fan base. This role will act as a key contributor to the marketing leadership team and be a trusted advisor to the VP of Marketing.
The Marketing Director will work with a multi-disciplinary team to help develop key strategic initiatives for fan growth including, but not limited to Pittsburgh Penguins Hall of Fame, Kids Club, Fan Fest, and ticketing-related initiatives. This candidate will work closely with the ticketing department in helping to develop key initiatives like theme nights, specialty packages, and more as well as work as a liaison between game entertainment in executing these initiatives. A deep passion for sports, particularly hockey, and prior experience in team-oriented environments is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate is someone who can work independently while juggling multiple projects and collaborating with stakeholders from various parts of the organization. They should be able to step into key meetings and contribute updates to leadership. The nature of this job requires strategic vision, adjustments on the fly, collaboration, and the ability to react quickly just like the sport of hockey.
This job requires a flexible schedule including work outside of normal business hours including weekends, evenings, and some holidays based on the established team schedule. In addition to a standard 40-hour work week, availability for games, events, and other projects is expected.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Marketing Leadership
- As a part of the Penguins marketing leadership group, be responsible for attending key leadership meetings with and without the VP of Marketing.
- Act as a liaison and Chief of Staff to the VP of Marketing leading key projects and delivering updates to stakeholders.
- Develop the agenda and lead the weekly marketing and content meetings among the broader marketing staff.
- Work closely with the creative, digital, and performance marketing groups to develop assets that drive ticket sales and interest in the key initiatives listed above.
- Host brainstorms to develop new concepts to further enhance ideas by engaging other groups across the organization including partnerships and ticketing.

Fan Development Initiatives
Kids Club and Youth Strategy – Develop plans for the next generation of Penguins fans by establishing a long-term strategy for attracting younger fans.
