JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Machine Repairman II is responsible for repair and maintenance of all Career and Technical Education equipment within schools. The Repairman II reports directly to the CTE Executive Director.
WORK MONTHS
12 Months
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Make major repairs on all Career and Technical Education equipment including diagnoses of problem and replacement of any defective parts.
2. Perform mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic repairs.
3. Maintain inventory for adequate parts for all CTE equipment and school repairs and order any necessary supplies.
4. Install/Remove equipment in schools and between schools.
5. Utilize ladders to install wood and steel racks.
6. Fabricate parts to fix machines and equipment.
7. Read blueprints, sketches, and electrical schematics.
8. Maintain and conduct preventatives maintenance of all CTE equipment.
9. Maintain running inventory of equipment in storage.
10. Tag out equipment when program or electives close and pack and store supplies/equipment.
11. Jobs as assigned by CTE Executive Director
EDUCATION REQUIRED
· High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development)

Varies based on the needs of the supervisor
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
-Previous experience in the repair and maintenance of the kind of equipment mentioned above.
-Experience with electronic computer circuits and equipment preferred.
-Mechanical experience, Machinist background training and certification preferred.

This position requires individuals to live in the territorial boundaries of the School District of Pittsburgh. If hired for this position you will be required to establish residence within three calendar months of your hire date with Pittsburgh Public Schools.
