What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mascot Handler & Performer (Part-Time) position at Pittsburgh Steelers?
The Pittsburgh Steelers are searching for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate to assist with our growing mascot program. This position would be responsible for attending public appearances with Steely McBeam and would be called upon to perform at appearance requests after accumulating adequate handler experience. The ideal candidate would have an outgoing, high-energy personality and enjoy interacting with fans of all ages.
Job Responsibilities & Duties :
- Attend appearances with the assigned Steely McBeam performer and assist the performer with the mascot costume when necessary
- Act as a guide during games and events and maintain a safe and amicable environment around the mascot at all times
- Maintain current and develop new relationships within the community
- Learn from and adapt to the mannerisms and actions of the current mascot performer(s) to align with the team’s branding
- Maintain prompt communication with the scheduling manager
