What are the responsibilities and job description for the POLICE OFFICERS -- Academy Recruit Program position at Pittsfield Charter Township?
Pittsfield Charter Township’s Department of Public Safety (Washtenaw County) is seeking candidates for our Police Officer Academy Recruit Program.
The Police Officer Academy Recruit Program is for non-licensed (pre-academy) applicants. The candidate(s) selected for this position will participate in an MCOLES regional Police Academy scheduled for 2025. If you are selected to be sponsored by the Township, the Township will cover the cost of the academy tuition and associated academy-related costs, excluding room/board and food. In addition, the Township will provide an hourly wage, with payment of overtime hours in excess of forty hours per week, to be paid out on a bi-weekly basis while attending the academy. Upon successful completion of the academy, the Recruit will be hired into a full-time, entry-level police officer position. The Recruit must successfully complete the Pittsfield Police Department's Field Training Officer program that includes a minimum one-year period of probation to remain a licensed police officer with Pittsfield Charter Township.
