Dental Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices and procedures, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to create a welcoming environment for patients.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, while adhering to safety protocols.
• Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient records within the dental clinic's systems.
• Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure efficient office operations.

Skills

• Proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental care.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques for effective assistance during procedures.
• Ability to take vital signs and understand their significance in patient care.
• Knowledge of medical coding for accurate record keeping is a plus.
• Experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
