Position Overview
As a Human Resources Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the VP of Human Resources and ensuring smooth HR operations. Your responsibilities will include employee onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and multi-state registrations. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities
HR Compliance & Multi-State Registration
· Manage company registrations, business licenses, and tax accounts across multiple states.
· Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations (EEO, FLSA, ADA, etc.).
· Track regulatory changes and assist in audits and compliance reporting.
Employee Onboarding & Records Management
· Oversee new hire processes, including background checks, employment verification, and I-9 compliance.
· Conduct new hire orientations and ensure proper documentation.
· Maintain accurate employee records while ensuring confidentiality.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
· Assist with payroll processing, timekeeping verification, and tax withholdings.
· Support employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
· Track PTO, FMLA, and other leave policies.
Employee Relations & Support
· Serve as a point of contact for employee HR inquiries.
· Assist in organizing company events, training sessions, and engagement initiatives.
· Support managers with performance reviews and documentation.
Administrative Support & Process Improvement
· Maintain HR databases and generate reports as needed.
· Assist with HR projects, process improvements, and policy updates.

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
· 3 years of HR administrative experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.
· Strong understanding of HR compliance, employment regulations, and HR best practices.
· Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and HRIS systems.
· High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with state registrations and compliance filings.
· Familiarity with payroll and benefits administration.
· HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
