What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Data Analyst position at Pivotal Solutions?

Associate Data Analyst :

Principal Responsibilities :

Move client files to analytic disks, confirm quantities, and provide summary of data assets
Import, examine, clean and transform data for model development and analysis using SAS
Execute existing and develop new programs to generate model development samples to meet the business requirements of direct and digital marketers
Conduct thorough quality assurance for model development samples, ensuring reliability and accuracy
Diagnose and solve problems with data, layouts, and dictionaries
Understand our statistical models as they relate to the company's production scoring system
Maintain and update model production schedule to assure adequate and precise timing of samples to Data Scientists

Qualifications and Skills :

Undergraduate or graduate degree in Math, Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline preferred

Must have an aptitude for programming and analysis. Training will be provided in SAS programming.

Exposure to Python, R or SAS preferred

Knowledge of Linux, Hadoop and SQL a plus

Coursework in computer programming, predictive modeling, machine learning, and related disciplines preferred.

Experience with linear algebra, statistical methods like linear regression, and predictive modeling

Must be familiar with MS Excel and have well developed and organized work habits

Must have strong quantitative skills and extensive attention to detail with the ability to investigate raw data

Proficiency in technical data handling, e.g. writing SQL or Python scripts to manipulate data for 2 years

Ability to clean, manipulate, and analyze large datasets to derive actionable insights.

Must be flexible, adaptive, inquisitive and possess a keen understanding of technology

Strong oral and written communication skills and convey complex data in a simple, actionable way

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required. This isn't just about data-it's about delivering insights to our clients

Must have a strong interest in, or a working knowledge of, audience selection techniques for direct mail and digital marketing
