What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Engineer, Platform position at Pixar Animation Studios?
The Platform Engineering team within Pixar Software R&D builds and maintains the development infrastructure that underpins the Studio's software release process, as well as critical aspects of the film production pipeline. This infrastructure is the foundation for development and release of both Pixar's proprietary animation software and the open source OpenUSD project.
The team is growing to expand OpenUSD's development infrastructure to support USD's continued evolution. We are looking for candidates with a deep understanding of software application engineering, the ability to collaborate in a large cross-functional team of developers, and skill in crafting robust, easy to maintain software systems.
Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, test, and maintain robust pipeline software within a Linux environment
- Build and support tools for testing, ensuring high-quality software through automated and manual tests
- Develop user interfaces and frontend components as needed
- Collaborate within a wider team consisting of Build and QA engineers, Designers, and Project Managers
- Quickly respond and proactively investigate requests coming from users
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team meetings

The hiring range for this position in Emeryville is $143,140.00 to $185,240.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
