The Opportunity
This role provides IT support for PKF San Diego’s tax, audit, and admin departments with approximately 45 employees. The core duties and responsibilities of the position revolve around supporting staff, managing support requests, and managing equipment. The job duties can vary widely, not just from project to project, but from day to day. On any given day, this may include a variety of IT support tasks.
As this is a public accounting firm, the role is affected by tax and audit deadlines and may involve overtime around certain times of year or during time-sensitive projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite IT support for staff at our Mission Valley office and our offsite staff and contractors.
- Install and configure computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Install, update, and support application and file servers.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Maintain computer systems, including updates and backups.
- Create, maintain, and enforce IT Security policies.
- Assist in the implementation of new technology.
- Manage IT department equipment and accessories.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of data.
- Manage incoming technology support requests and document all support activities in a ticketing system.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, empathy, and exceptional customer service.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of technology.
Desired Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience supporting desktop hardware, operating systems, servers, peripherals & applications.
- Computer Science or Information technology degree preferred. Certifications are a plus.
- Experience supporting network firewalls, routers, and access points.
- Knowledge of networking, security, and related technologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and resolution experience (desktop and network troubleshooting)
- Excellent skills administering Microsoft 365 and other cloud-based software products.
- Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience providing IT support to an accounting firm.
- Strong communication (both verbal and written) and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to prioritize daily tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and contractors.
