PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods.

SUMMARY:

The HR Generalist will focus on Employee Relations & Onboarding. This role is responsible for supporting a positive work environment through proactive employee relations support, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage employee relations matters, including performance management support, investigation of complaints, and the tracking and resolution of employee concerns. In addition, this position leads the temporary employee conversion process and facilitates new hire orientation training, ensuring new team members receive the tools and resources needed for a successful start. The role also supports ongoing HR initiatives, HRIS data management, and HR training.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am-6pm

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5 years of HR experience with a strong focus on Employee Relations, including investigations and performance management support
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters appropriately
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Experience with HRIS systems, including data entry, reporting, and system training
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to respond calmly and professionally to employee concerns or escalations
  • Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours when necessary to meet departmental needs
  • Willingness to travel as needed

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with supervisors and management to ensure fair and consistent application of policies and procedures
  • Facilitate performance improvement processes, providing templates, documentation support, and guidance
  • Track employee relations cases to ensure timely follow-up, resolution, and appropriate documentation
  • Provide interpretation and communication of HR policies and labor laws to employees and leaders
  • Manage the temporary employee conversion process, including coordination with managers and entry into the HRIS system
  • Lead new hire orientation, including presentations on harassment prevention, HR systems, and benefits overview
  • Provide support for general HR functions, including maintaining employee data in HRIS, recruitment, coordinating with Payroll for accurate processing of changes and deductions, and assisting with leave of absence and accommodation tracking
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies that support employee engagement and retention
  • Partner with managers to address workforce issues and support employee development and performance improvement plans
  • Contribute to other HR functions such as benefits administration, performance reviews, and employee recognition programs as needed
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Provide coverage for HR Assistant responsibilities as needed
  • Support additional HR projects and initiatives as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Primarily office-based work with occasional visits to manufacturing areas (PPE required)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods
  • Occasional walking, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
  • Use of hands and arms to reach for and handle objects
