Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated PR Assistant intern to assist with marketing, content creation, public relations, design, data entry, event management, and more. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to gain hands-on experience in the music/PR industry and learn from seasoned professionals. The ideal candidate will be eager to contribute to a variety of tasks, including creating content, supporting campaigns, conducting research, and collaborating with team members on ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in Content Creation: Support the team in producing high-quality written, visual, and digital content for social media, blogs, newsletters, websites, and other platforms.
- Campaign Support: Help with the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, including research, content scheduling, and monitoring performance metrics.
- Research & Data Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and audience behaviors to help inform strategic decisions. Assist with compiling data and creating reports.
- Social Media Management: Assist with managing and updating the company’s social media profiles (Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), including content scheduling and engaging with followers.
- Client and Team Collaboration: Participate in client meetings and internal brainstorming sessions, providing fresh insights and ideas.
- Administrative Support: Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks, such as organizing files, researching media contacts, managing calendars, and scheduling meetings.
- Writing the "Good News Break": Interns will have the opportunity to write PLA’s monthly “Good News Break” and use it in their portfolios.
- Learning to Write Press Releases & Media Pitches: You’ll gain hands-on experience in crafting and servicing press releases.
Requirements
- Enthusiastic & Proactive: A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Reliability: Follow-through on commitments, expectations, and overall tasks is a must.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail, and a willing confidence in picking up the phone to have a conversation.
- Creativity: Ability to think outside the box and contribute creative ideas to the team.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Social Media Platforms: Understanding of social media trends, and experience with platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of tools like Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google (Docs, Sheets, etc.). Experience with design software (Photoshop, Canva, etc.) or content management systems (WordPress) is a plus but not required.
- Pursuing a Degree: Currently enrolled in a related degree program (e.g., Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Graphic Design, etc.).
