To participate in the recruitment at the I level, the II level, or both levels, you must complete and submit separate applications and supplemental questionnaires for each recruitment.The following programs are currently seeking a Health Education Program Coordinator - I/II.Healthy Aging Program In response to the emerging need for prevention and education services for Placer County’s aging population, the Public Health Division of the Health & Human Services Department is seeking a Health Education Program Coordinator - I/II to assist with the implementation of the Healthy Aging Program. Individuals in this position will be responsible for assisting with designing, implementing, and evaluating prevention and education-based services for older adults, implementing scope of work, serving as a resource to Placer communities and key stakeholders, and representing the Healthy Aging Program within statewide collaboratives. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing programs for older adult populations, be comfortable working with community members, and have a solid grasp of principles and practices of public health, especially as related to government agencies and community groups.Cancer Prevention ProgramThe Public Health Division is also seeking a Health Education Program Coordinator - I/II to support the development and implementation of a new Cancer Prevention Program. Individuals in this position will be responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Cancer Prevention scope of work, beginning with a targeted focus on skin cancer. Activities include but are not limited to increasing community knowledge and awareness of skin cancer, building collaborative partnerships, maintaining effective outreach strategies, and supporting the implementation of policies to enhance sun safety efforts for Placer community members. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, creative, organized, and have a passion for improving the health of the community through prevention-based strategies. Additionally, candidates could benefit from having an understanding of overarching public health principles, feel comfortable working with key community stakeholders, and have the skills to prepare reports in Microsoft word, Excel, and other basic applications.Minimum QualificationsHealth Education Program Coordinator - I: Experience: No experience required.Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public health or a closely related field.Health Education Program Coordinator - II: Experience: Two years of responsible public health information or public health education experience performing duties similar to a Health Education Program Coordinator - I.Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public health or a closely related field.
