Plaid Enterprises is a leading manufacturer of consumer products in the Craft and DIY category with national brands including Mod Podge, FolkArt, Apple Barrel, and Bucilla; sold through multiple sales channels including Mass, E-Commerce, Specialty Retail, Value, Home Improvement Channels, and Direct-to-Consumer.
We are a fully integrated in-house creative marketing team, seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Copywriter who will be responsible for creating engaging, conversion focused product descriptions, landing pages, e-commerce content, and email campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEO best practices, be skilled in keyword research, and know how to craft content that drives traffic and boosts sales.
Key Responsibilities
· Write compelling, product descriptions that highlight features, benefits, and unique selling points.
· Develop SEO friendly copy for product pages, category pages, blogs, and other e-commerce related content.
· Write clear/concise instructions/packaging information in collaboration with the product development team.
· Conduct keyword research to optimize existing content and create new, high ranking web pages.
· Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to ensure content aligns with brand tone and voice.
· Update and optimize current website content to improve organic search rankings.
· Work closely with the communications and e-commerce team to improve user experience through copy.
· Monitor and analyze content performance using SEO tools, improve engagement and conversion rates.
Qualifications
· BA/BS in English or Communications
· 3-5 years’ experience as a Copywriter, preferably in an e-commerce environment.
· Solid understanding of SEO best practices and techniques, including keyword research and on-page optimization.
· Ability to write clear instructions along with persuasive, and engaging content tailored to target audiences.
· Experience using SEO tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, or similar.
· Experience with Adobe Magento platform is a plus.
· Strong attention to detail and excellent time-management skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
