The Plain City Division of Police is accepting applications for Full-Time Police Officer Position. 

Hiring Status: Currently hiring for one (1) position (NEW position) to be filled immediately AND building an eligibility list for additional NEW positions to be hired in 2025. 

  • Take the FrontLine National exam through National Testing Network 
  • Take the PSSA Part 1 and Part 2 through the National Testing Network
  • Achieve passing scores for each testing component

Salary Information: Starting at $74,193.60 - Top-Out at $95,035.20 with an Excellent Benefits Package

Department Overview: The Plain City Division of Police has established a very positive relationship with our citizens and community partners. We are looking for officers who have a strong sense of community and embody our mission statement. We moved into a newly constructed and modern police facility in 2020. We embrace technology and have up-to-date equipment that is all on a regular replacement schedule. We have active membership with the regional SRT team and regional Drug Task Force as well as other specialized groups. We have bicycle patrol, a drone unit, a K9 unit, and are actively involved with for community outreach programs and school outreach programs. Our officers wear progressive uniforms including outer vest carriers and are permitted to have facial hair and visible tattoos.

Career Growth and Development: The division of police firmly believes in training and maximizing each officer's potential by encouraging them to attend training annually that is of particular interest to the officer and is of benefit to our agency. Training opportunities typically exceed state mandated training requirements. We also have several impending retirements that will allow for rapid advancement opportunities and this combined with the rapid growth of the community will allow new officers to gain seniority quickly. This is an excellent time to begin your career with the Plain City Division of Police!

Area Information: Plain City is geographically located in central Ohio and sits in both Madison and Union counties.

Population: Rapidly growing community of approximately 5,000 people. Our population is expected to double within about 5 years and we expect to hire 5 officers within the next 2 years with even more immediately following. A major national homebuilder recently reported that one of the Plain City developments is their fastest selling development in the entire country. There are several major developments already under construction or are approved for construction right now with many more in planning stages right now.
