Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
We are looking for an Accounting Associate to join our finance team in Orlando (requiring a minimum commitment of 6 hours per day in the office). In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, contributing to essential accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in timesheet data
- Perform corrections and updates to timesheets as needed
- Update account schedules with new General Ledger (G/L) entries
- Reconcile G/L accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Review expense reports for miscoding, verifying accuracy and compliance
- Enter vendor invoices and ensure documentation is complete and accurate
- Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Proactive and eager to learn new concepts and take initiative
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices
