Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other federal agencies, all over the world.
The Site Safety Officer is responsible for site inspections, mitigating hazards, and recommending safety improvements.
This position will require visits to different project sites.
Key responsibilities:
- Administers safety and occupational health programs in compliance with standards and requirements to assure safety, healthy, and efficient operations
- Audits and inspects work sites to ensure compliance with safety and health program requirements
- Evaluate hazardous conditions and practices, and develop hazard control practices and programs
- Prepares technical guidance and direction for safety and occupational health program implementation
- Assists in communicating hazard control information and evaluates the effectiveness of the control
- Studies, plans, and formulates new and revised safety programs and rules; prepares recommendations and implements conformance with those that meet the approval.
- Guides and assists field personnel at locations with critical safety and health problems
- Selects and approves the purchase of standard manufactured safety devices or design
- Assess new developments in the health and safety field that may have an application to the company's operations
- Acts as ranking company representative in dealing with government agencies on safety and health matters affecting the company
- Performs, reviews, and assures compliance on risk assessment/management audits.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications To be successful in the role:
- Graduate of any engineering course
- Five years of constuction industry safety experience, or three years if you posses a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construct Health and Safety Technician (CSHT), or similar certification by the Board of Certified Safety Professional (BCSP), or an equivalent.
- Completed th 40-hour EM 385-1-1 course (or refresher within the past year if already completed previously).
- Completed OSHA 30-Hour Constuction Safety course.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Proven track record in preparing technical documentation to a very high standard.
- Must have strong leadership ability and can relate effectively to all types of people.
- Able to do and conduct worldwide emergency planning for all the projects of the company.
- Proficient in both verbal and written communication.
- With a valid driver’s license.
