Position Summary:
As our front desk scheduler, you will be responsible greeting and assisting patients at check in, verifying patient insurance, updating patient records, confirming and scheduling patients, utilizing company policies to solve customer issues and directing calls to the managerial team when necessary. You strategically schedule appointments that enhance the patients experience and promote smooth operations. Our Front Desk Scheduler are often the first point of contact for customer service issues; therefore, a commitment to customer satisfaction and an ability to make quick and accurate decisions is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Open and close dental offices according to office protocol.
- Schedule and confirm appointments for patients.
- Obtain and enter accurate demographic information into Patient File (address, telephone number, name of insurance or self-pay status).
- Answer questions and offer other information, as requested, to provide patient-focused service.
- Acts as a liaison for the patients and the practices:
- Direct calls to other departments as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and abide by HIPAA best practices.
- Take Payments
- Keep all patient's insurance information up to date.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Two years of customer service or related experience preferred.
- One year experience in call center/scheduling preferred.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a workstation in a call center/ office environment.
