Key Responsibilities
The Project Controls Specialist will lead project controls processes and collaborate with the project management team to ensure client satisfaction. This specialist will present schedule and budget status reports to the project management team and client.
Responsibilities Include:
- Ensuring proper set-up and management of the Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
- Analyzing data, logs, and reports in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software or other tools.
- Validating proper Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) usage.
- Developing effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flow reports and forecasts for multiple projects.
- Creating and managing the reporting data warehouse to produce valuable program controls reports and data for multiple large projects.
- Providing guidance and training to team members to resolve complex project control issues.
- Developing and implementing project execution plans.
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, customers, and contractors.
- Overseeing engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics and cost control.
- Serving as a point of contact for technical questions from the project team.
- Validating the accuracy of cost management and forecast reporting.
- Collaborating with the Project Management Team and Accounting Department to review project costs and contingency costs and support external audits.
- Experienced in negotiating prime agreements, construction contracts/subcontracts agreements.
- Reviewing upstream (prime contract) / downstream (purchase orders & subcontract) change orders.
- Analyzing cash flow reports.
- Leading the Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM).
- Presenting Project Controls reporting.
- Validating schedule progress.
- Analyzing and evaluating schedule management involving the critical path method of scheduling techniques, estimating, project cost management, forecasting and document control.
- Performing schedule what-if scenarios.
- Validating the accuracy of earned value management system reporting.
- Analyzing progress measurement.
- Analyzing progress curves.
- Performing and reviewing material takeoffs.
- Identifying and overseeing the Risk Management process.
- Conducting quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables.
- Conducting field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and processes.
- Performing Project Forensic Analysis.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field and 7 years direct project controls experience.
- Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Experience with critical path scheduling, project cost management, estimating and document control required.
- Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
- Ability to create detailed construction schedules and interface those construction schedules with engineering and procurement activities preferred.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- OSHA 10-hour safety certification or ability to obtain.
